Who Are These People?
Ankeny Church of the Brethren is located in Ankeny, Iowa. We are affiliated
with the Church of the Brethren, which is one of the historic peace churches
and we continue the work of Jesus, Simply, Peacefully,
Together. Our church has something to offer to those who have not
been attending recently. We deal with the real-life
issues we all face.
Ankeny Church of the Brethren is built on relationships
with one another and with God. We are striving
to make the music current with the day we live in. The teaching applies the truths of the Bible to the concerns of daily life. Even if you have been attending church regularly, we think you also will find this practical emphasis very helpful.

Who is Their Leader?
Mike Huffaker leads Ankeny C.O.B. as
our Full-time pastor.
Mike and his wife live, Laura, live in Ankeny and have four children. Ashley, Lauren, Kamryn, and Jarred. Mike grew up in many places, but he was raised in Cumberland, Maryland and has a B.A. in Music from Bridgewater College and a Master of Divinity Degree in Pastoral Ministries from Bethany Theological Seminary. Mike still enjoys playing basketball and singing whenever he can.
What Do We Believe?
The Church of the Brethren has always believed in adult believers baptism. We believe the path of following Jesus is a choice made in deliberate fashion. We begin and end with Jesus.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God,
our guide for faith and life. II Timothy 3:16-17
We believe that Jesus is God the Son and took on Himself a human body
when He was born of Mary. John 1:1-14
He died on the cross in our place so that our sins against God might be
forgiven if we place our trust in Him alone for our forgiveness. The result
of trusting Jesus as our life’s leader is eternal spiritual life
with God. John 3:16
This gift of eternal life cannot be earned or deserved in any way. It
is given to us by God’s grace through faith in His Son. Ephesians
2:8-9
